About The Event

The session will start off as a 'Play with Clay' class where each potter gets 1kg of white clay to experiment with using their own imagination. When everyone is happy making their own creations, I will pull people out two at a time for a mini taster on the wheel.

This session will last for approximately two hours. There is space for 6 kids and two adults. Price as usual £12 per kid and £10 for the adult places. Everyone will create one pot on the potter's wheel and this wheel thrown pot will be fired and clear glazed to make it food safe. The hand built creations will all be fired just the once making them suitable for painting / varnishing at home. (Underglaze colours will not be available to use in this session on the handbuilt items but a splash of colour can be added to the wheel thrown pots).

All items will be available to collect approximately 4 weeks later. I will be busy helping those on the pottery wheel, so those who are playing with clay will not be taught specific skills, instead this is a chance to explore the clay / practice skills previously taught. It is a good opportunity to experience the wheel without having to book onto a longer course or class as well as having a bit of fun with clay and chatting with some pals:)
